A New Look for the New Year

As my first year living in Richmond comes to a close, I think back on how great 2011 has been.  Wedding Wednesdays just celebrated its first year anniversary last month. We had such a great turn out and cannot thank the sponsors (The Knot, Tobacco Company, McBride Events, Petite Bouchees, ModernWed) enough for showing us a great time.  I hope you all enjoyed this event, met some great people and are looking forward to 2012.

Stay tuned for upcoming announcements for 2012 events. How do you stay connected? All information will be posted here so you can always check in here for Save the Date announcements and a recap from out last meeting. Make sure to "like" the Facebook page, events will be created from there. And share the love, pass on the invitation to people you know in the wedding business. I would love to meet them. You know me (if you don't, you will soon!), the more the merrier!

What I am most excited about at the moment, is our new look. This fresh design was brought to us by LHC Prodesigns Graphic Art & Design.

Lauren is an amazing artist and absolutely wonderful to work with.  Hopefully she can come by and meet you all at one of our 2012 events.  In the meantime, feel free to contact Lauren for your design needs.

As this year comes a close, I continue to be thankful for the opportunity to meet and work with great people.  I wish you and your families a Happy Holiday season and very Happy New Year. I look forward to what 2012 has in store for us.

We are already gearing up and meeting with sponsors to plan some incredible events that I hope to see you all in attendance.  Contact me at weddingwednesdays@gmail.com if you would like to sponsor or contribute to one of our events.

Happy Anniversary!
This week the Wedding Wednesdays group met up at the Tobacco Company. It was an exciting evening with some great food and cocktails provided by our sponsors, The Knot Virginia and the Tobacco Company. Shannon Greenwood is the director of sales and marketing for the Tobacco Company, contact her to assist with setting up your next private party there.

Robert Luk of ModernWed, was kind enough to snap some shots of the group for us. Veronica Perez, of Petites Bouchees, put together this beautiful and VERY popular dessert station.

A HUGE thanks to the Kelly McNeil, from the Knot, for her enthusiasm and great energy she brought to this event.  This was a special night not just because it was the last Wedding Wednesdays of 2011. We were also celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the very first Wedding Wednesdays.  Last November, we got our start with about 15 wedding pros with a meet up at the Barrel Thief in Short Pump.  We have come a long way.

This week we had about 65-70 come together. As I celebrate my first year of living in Richmond and seeing this group grow, I couldn't be more proud.  It has been an honor to meet you all this year. I have made some great friends and enjoyed working with a lot you this year.  I am excited to see where 2012 will take us. I believe it will be a great year for us all.
Kelly from the Knot!

A special thanks goes out to Jennifer McBride of McBride Events. Jennifer has been a huge supporter of the success of Wedding Wednesdays.  This event would not have happened without you!

Again, we must thank Kelly McNeil from the Knot Virginia for sponsoring this event. Contact Kelly at kmcneil@theknot.com for more information on how the Knot can be of service to your business. Ask her about the specials for new vendors and current partners, these offers expire 11/30!

I hope you are all excited to see what 2012 has in store for us. Lets make it bigger and better than ever!

Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming Wedding Wednesdays events for 2012. We are planning some very exciting things!  If you would like to showcase your business or participate by sponsoring an event, do not hesitate to contact me at weddingwednesdays@gmail.com.

Thank you & Happy Holidays,

August

Are you guys excited for the August Wedding Wednesdays? This month, your contact person is the lovely Bob Schnell. I have a booking conflict so Bob has volunteered to keep the party going.  Here is the deal....

Who: the Wedding Industry folk
What:  a casual meet and greet
When: Aug 17, 6-8 (come and go as you please)
Where:  Wine Loft,  4035 Whittall Way, Glen Allen, VA 23060
Why: Just because

The "rules" are pretty simple.
  1. If you haven't been in while, we have missed you! If you have been before, we can't wait to have you.
  2. If your friend who is also a wedding industry person did not get an invite, then you invite him/her.
  3. This is super informal. Come and go whenever you can stop by between 6-8.
  4. Introduce yourself, you can even hand out some business cards so people know where to find you.
  5. Eat, drink and be merry. Your waiter will bring your check :)
See, its easy.  Pass it on.

Any questions? Email weddingwednesdays@gmail.com. See you there!
