A New Look for the New Year

As my first year living in Richmond comes to a close, I think back on how great 2011 has been.  Wedding Wednesdays just celebrated its first year anniversary last month. We had such a great turn out and cannot thank the sponsors (The Knot, Tobacco Company, McBride Events, Petite Bouchees, ModernWed) enough for showing us a great time.  I hope you all enjoyed this event, met some great people and are looking forward to 2012.

Stay tuned for upcoming announcements for 2012 events. How do you stay connected? All information will be posted here so you can always check in here for Save the Date announcements and a recap from out last meeting. Make sure to "like" the Facebook page, events will be created from there. And share the love, pass on the invitation to people you know in the wedding business. I would love to meet them. You know me (if you don't, you will soon!), the more the merrier!

Happy Anniversary!

This week the Wedding Wednesdays group met up at the Tobacco Company. It was an exciting evening with some great food and cocktails provided by our sponsors, The Knot Virginia and the Tobacco Company. Shannon Greenwood is the director of sales and marketing for the Tobacco Company, contact her to assist with setting up your next private party there.

Robert Luk of ModernWed, was kind enough to snap some shots of the group for us. Veronica Perez, of Petites Bouchees, put together this beautiful and VERY popular dessert station.

A HUGE thanks to the Kelly McNeil, from the Knot, for her enthusiasm and great energy she brought to this event.  This was a special night not just because it was the last Wedding Wednesdays of 2011. We were also celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the very first Wedding Wednesdays.  Last November, we got our start with about 15 wedding pros with a meet up at the Barrel Thief in Short Pump.  We have come a long way.

This week we had about 65-70 come together. As I celebrate my first year of living in Richmond and seeing this group grow, I couldn't be more proud.  It has been an honor to meet you all this year. I have made some great friends and enjoyed working with a lot you this year.  I am excited to see where 2012 will take us. I believe it will be a great year for us all.

Time to Wrap up 2011!

Can you believe that 2011 is coming to a close? Join us on November the 9th for our last Wedding Wednesdays last shindig of 2011. Don't worry, we will meet again in 2012!

September's Wedding Wednesday is being brought to us by East Coast Entertainment + Taylor Rental/Party Plus.

As usual, everyone is invited, so bring a friend. This is going to be a fun kick off for fall.

We Rocked the Westin!

In April, the Wedding Wednesday crew (of lively event pros) met up at The Westin and as usual we had a great time. Thank you, Bob Schnell, for capturing the evidence and sharing. 

 As always, there are lots of laughs when get get a group like this together. You know, just some crazy kids in the wedding biz talking shop and taking a moment to enjoy each other's company.

Did you know that our very own Westin has been AAA Four Diamond Award? Pretty Impressive!

If you haven't seen this beautiful location, I have been told that we can get one of the very important people at the hotel to give us a little tour, if we ask nicely.

Meet Kieran Wagner

I mentioned that our friend Kieran Wagner was kind enough to take some photographs at the March Wedding Wednesdays at Lehja in Short Pump. One of the awesome things about Kieran, other than him being an all around great guy, is that he shoots with film instead of going the digital route. Here are few of the shots from the end of our last meeting. I hear there may be a few more black and whites that we will get to see later.

March Meeting Recap

Last night we had a great group of wedding pros come out to Lehja in Short Pump. We mixed, we mingled, and we had an all around good time as usual. Thanks to Lehja for hosting us.

This time I snapped a few shots of guests. Lucky for us, we had the talented  Kieran Wagner pop by and snap some legit, professional photos. Kieran shoots with film, which is super cool. Give us a little time and we will show off his shots from last night. In the meantime, check out his website to take a peak at some fantastic photography.

March 2 at Lehja

Its that time again, Wedding Wednesdays! Come out and join us on March 2 at Lehja.

Lehja is located at  Short Pump Town Center, 11800 West Broad street Suite 910. We will get happy hour prices on food and drinks from 5-7:30.  Pop in anytime from 5-8.

We would like to thank McBride Events for helping to get our first community give back organized. We will be collecting donations for the Central Virginia Food Bank. There is a prize for the person who brings the most items.

To participate, please bring non-perishable food items for donation. McBride Events will match all donations received that evening. If we bring 20lbs of donations, McBride Events will match out donations and Wedding Wednesdays will have 40lbs to donate!

Oh yeah, I mentioned a prize for the person who brings the most items. The winner will get 1 ticket to Illuminate: the Workshop. Early Bird registration will be thru March 1st online.  If you would like to register at Wedding Wednesday on March 2nd, Meghan Ely from OFD Consulting will be in attendance and she can get you signed up, she even graciously extended the Early Bird price for WW guest who want to sign up that night.
